Born: Suwannee, GA | Currently: Nashville, TN
Raised in North Georgia, Andy knew at just 11 years old that he wanted to spend his life in country music. Right after high school, Andy started going out on the road with then rising country artist, Corey Smith. He was able to learn first-hand from that experience what all it took, behind the scenes to become a touring artist. After a few years of traveling back and forth to establish himself in town, Andy left his hometown of Suwanee, Georgia in 2012 to officially make his move to Nashville, TN and released his self-titled EP that same year. His 2nd studio release EP, Blue Collar Cruise in August of 2014 and featured songs like "Roll of a Dirt Road" and both projects continued to provide the backdrop to Andy’s high-energy live show for the last few years as he spent time playing festivals, headlining clubs, and opening for several of country's top artists like Brad Paisley, Brantley Gilbert, Cody Johnson, Granger Smith, in addition to touring Corey Smith. In 2018, Andy released the North Georgia Pines, a 12 song LP that features songs such as "God Made a Backroad”, "Song You Can Drink a Beer To", and "Thinkin".
On May 3rd, 2019, Andy released his latest single "Half-Truths & Other Lies," produced by Jimmy Ritchey. CMT also debuted the official music video for the single on May 21st, and was a multi-week #1 on the CMT's 12 Pack Countdown.
"All those years spent grinding it out, writing, recording, and touring around the country has lead me to this point where I feel like not only have I refined my craft, I know my lane in the country music genre. I think this new record, both sonically and lyrically, is something my fans and that of country music will connect with" says Velo. "At the end of the day, I want to build a platform to be able to influence the world for good, to end up leaving it better than I came into it, and I'm blessed that platform is in country music."
Velo is honored to be one of few artists that are Brand Ambassadors for Jim Beam and Maker's Mark bourbon. This relationship gives fans more ways to connect and express themselves with everything from bourbon tastings hosted by Andy to free music downloads and tour sponsorship. Velo is also partnered with Monster Energy, playing some of their marquee events such as PBR and NASCAR races. Also, as a departure from music, Andy has been cast and done stunt roles in movies such as We Are Marshall and The Blind Side.
As 2020 has thrown the entire music community a huge curve ball, Andy has been in the studio filling the well full of songs with Jimmy Ritchey putting the finishing touches on over 20 new songs. The release of "Whiskysippi" in fall of 2020 is the first in a long line of new music that Andy is ready to share with his eagerly anticipating and very loyal fans.
